Before joining Amway, Tom was a bus company mechanic and worked part-time as a night-shift taxi driver, while Noven was a garment factory worker. They spent most of their time to earn a living. Then Noven's sister introduced them to the Amway business. Tom recalled being fascinated by one of the speakers at an Amway seminar. He was in his twenties and earned ten times of Tom's salary. Tom was confident that he could be as successful as this young man and make a decent living through Amway.
Besides, Noven thinks the Amway business has improved her relationship with Tom. She recalled that she was not enthusiastic about the business in the beginning. In difficult times, she thought of giving up. Tom explained to her that it was not the income but the commitment he had made to their downlines that he could not give up. It was then Noven pulled herself together and built her business again. To build a successful business with her downlines, she also reminds herself to upgrade constantly.
